Miniature Horses are becoming favorites with people all over the world. Anyone who has ever wanted to own a horse ,but did not have the room,or were just afraid to get started, can easily handle a miniature horse or two. They do not present the problems and danger of a full size horse. They do however require a dedicated owner who is willing to spend time with the horses and care for them .Their basic needs are shelter, which could easily be a small barn, garage,or shed. They need an exercise area, where they can graze and run around. They need fresh water, hay and regular horse feed. And most of all a loving person to handle and be nice to them. They love attention and they like to give it back.Miniatures love children and children love Miniatures

Miniature Horses look just like big horses only they are much smaller. They have the same characteristics and conformation. To be offically registered with the American Miniature Horse Association, the maximum height must be 34 inches or under, measured at the last hairs of the mane. Most Miniatures measure between 28" and 34".

Where Did Miniature Horses Come From????
|
European Royalty were looking for pets for their families. The young princes and princesses loved to play with their pets on the palace grounds. This selective breeding of small horses and ponies took place in the 16th century. As time went on and the breed became more established,a few horses were imported to the United States, mostly to work in coal mines in Indiana and West Virginia..This was in the 1930's.A few breeders started breeding some of the better horses and after many years,we have the very fine horses of today.Presently Magic Stars Farm in Alloway NJ is an industry leader and is producing many of the worlds finest Miniature horses......phone 856 935 8406 email [email protected]....
